Your College Admissions Guide: Carolyn Z. Lawrence
I've helped hundreds of families successfully navigate the college admissions landscape. Although I am based in the San Diego area, I assist students across the U.S. and around the world by providing professional college counseling services through proven online technologies.
My college counseling philosophy centers on my belief that the journey to college is a developmental process for students during which they learn important lessons about themselves as they prepare for the greater independence that adulthood requires. My focus is on guiding each student towards greater self-knowledge with the goal of helping each student identify the post-secondary options that best match their personal needs, learning styles, desires, and educational and career objectives.
After many years in the business world, I returned to school for my Certificate in College Admissions Counseling from the University of California, Los Angeles. I have worked as a school college counselor and currently I am a private college admissions consultant, working one-on-one with students. To stay current with admissions practices and trends, I regularly visit campuses across the United States, speak with admissions and financial aid officers at a variety of colleges, and attend national professional conferences related to education and college admissions.
I am an active member of the following professional organizations, and fully abide by their ethics and professional standards in my work with students:
In addition to my work with students, I regularly speak about college admissions and financial aid at many school and community organizations, and at national counseling professional conferences. If you would be interested in having me speak to students or families at your school or organization about planning for college, please contact me.
I've also been interviewed as an authority on college planning by national publications, radio shows, and websites, including New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, MSN Money, the International Herald Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, and USA Today.
Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions, or would like my assistance with college planning.
